Who are ADNIC?
Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) is one of the UAE’s established national insurers. It is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADSE), and holds a CBUAE licence. ADNIC operates across six lines: motor, health, home, life, travel and commercial. Its group medical and corporate property operations are particularly well established (source: adnic.ae, verified 12 Jun 2026).
ADNIC is a conventional insurer. It does not operate a takaful subsidiary. Residents with a Shariah-compliant preference should consider takaful operators such as Takaful Emarat, Watania Takaful, Abu Dhabi National Takaful or Sukoon Takaful instead.
Its multi-line presence across the UAE means the same insurer can cover a client’s car, home and health in a single relationship. For some buyers, that simplicity has value; for others, the priority is finding the best terms per line regardless of insurer.
How are ADNIC’s car insurance plans structured?
Like all CBUAE-licensed motor insurers in the UAE, ADNIC offers car insurance within the framework of the unified motor policy. The two core cover types are:
Third party liability (TPL). The legal minimum under Federal Decree-Law No. 14/2024. Covers damage and injury caused to third parties up to the unified motor policy minimums: AED 2,000,000 per accident for property damage, AED 200,000 per family member for death or permanent disability, and AED 6,770 per person for ambulance costs (IA Board Decision No. 25/2016, verified 12 Jun 2026).
Comprehensive. Adds own-vehicle damage (accident, fire, theft) on top of the TPL base. ADNIC’s comprehensive plans are available for retail individual buyers, fleet/SME accounts and corporate clients. Specific plan tiers, add-ons and pricing are available from ADNIC directly at adnic.ae or through their authorised brokers.
Standard add-ons available in the UAE motor market, and typically available from ADNIC, include: agency repair, off-road cover, GCC extension, roadside assistance, personal accident for driver and passengers, and hire car during repair. Which of these is included as standard vs available as an add-on, and at what cost, should be confirmed with ADNIC at the time of quoting.
What do agency repair and roadside assistance terms look like?
Agency repair and roadside assistance are the two car insurance features most buyers ask about before purchasing.
Agency repair. Agency repair guarantees your vehicle is repaired at a manufacturer-authorised garage using original parts. In the UAE, most insurers offer agency repair as an add-on to comprehensive cover or as part of a premium comprehensive tier. Eligibility is typically capped by the car’s age (manufacturers set the authorised-garage network for cars within a certain age range; insurers align to this). The specific age cap ADNIC applies to agency repair eligibility, and the premium loading for the add-on, should be confirmed at adnic.ae or with an ADNIC representative at the time of purchase. Terms can change.
Roadside assistance. Roadside assistance (breakdown recovery, tyre change, jump start, fuel delivery) is a common inclusion in UAE comprehensive motor policies, either as standard or as a low-cost add-on. Whether ADNIC includes it as standard in a given comprehensive tier, or charges separately, should be confirmed in the policy schedule before buying.
The important rule applies to any insurer, not just ADNIC: do not assume agency repair or roadside assistance is included. Check the policy schedule, confirm the add-on is activated, and keep the documentation.
How does the claims process run?
The motor claims process in the UAE is broadly the same across all CBUAE-licensed insurers, with insurer-specific tools for reporting and tracking.
The standard route: report the accident to the relevant traffic authority (RTA in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Police in Abu Dhabi, relevant emirate authority elsewhere) and obtain a police report. Most insurers require a police report before accepting a motor claim. Notify ADNIC through their claims line, app or portal. Direct the vehicle to the approved repairer (or agency repairer if that cover is active). ADNIC assesses the damage, authorises repair, and manages settlement with the repairer.
For current claims contact numbers, digital claims tools and approved garage lists, check adnic.ae directly. These details are operational and can change; the website is the most reliable current source.
ADNIC’s retail, SME and corporate segments have separate account management and claims routes. If insured through an employer or fleet policy, the claims process may run through a dedicated account manager rather than the general retail claims line.
Who does ADNIC suit?
Based on ADNIC’s verified profile (source: adnic.ae, 12 Jun 2026), the insurer fits well in several specific situations.
Abu Dhabi-based drivers. ADNIC is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, listed on the ADSE, and has strong presence in the Abu Dhabi market. Drivers who prefer to insure with a locally rooted insurer for their emirate may find ADNIC a natural first comparison.
SME and corporate fleet buyers. ADNIC’s notes describe it as strong in group medical and corporate segments. For businesses looking to consolidate motor and health insurance with a single national insurer, ADNIC is worth including in the shortlist.
Multi-line buyers. ADNIC writes motor, health, home, life, travel and commercial. Buyers who want to manage all their insurance through a single account relationship have that option here.
Those who prefer a conventional national insurer. ADNIC is a listed national company with a long operating history in the UAE. Buyers who prioritise a national conventional insurer over foreign-branch or takaful operators will find ADNIC meets that criterion.
